Watch Manila Killa’s mini-documentary of his first hometown show in Manila

Dance music currently has the reach to touch all corners of the earth.

Having split his childhood between the Philippines and the states, the now LA-based Manila Killa founded his artistic project after immersing himself in the online producer community. In the time since, he’s blossomed into an exciting up-and-comer with a bright future in the industry.

Although he has a touring résumé that includes stateside festivals like HARD Summer and Camp Bisco, Chris Gavino had yet played his hometown of Manila until this summer. He recently returned to the city in which he spent his childhood to perform at a local venue, Black Market, and documented his travels in a mini-documentary.

Taking a trip down memory lane, the video alternates between Manila Killa discussing his rise as a musician and clips of the producer visiting nostalgic spots in the city like his old house alongside shots from his memorable debut at Black Market.
