Far East Movement x Marshmello – Freal Luv ft. Chanyeol & Tinashe

Few can boast in an entire career what Marshmello has accomplished in the brief time since he first donned the mallow helmet. First gaining notice for his prodigious remix abilities — most recently giving Martin Garrix‘s “Oops” his signature twist — the producer has since seen his own work receive remixes from the likes of Getter, Slushii, and more. This all, of course, ignores the white whale of confectionary bass: his collaboration with Skrillex, which has been lurking around the Internet for some time now.

Marshmello recently broke in a new direction, however, teaming up with the Far East Movement to provide production for vocalists Tinashe and Chanyeol on the track “Freal Luv.” Tinashe offers breathy vocals, while Chanyeol delivers multiple verses over a rock solid foundation of subbass and a lurching, percussive pluck, combining to form an effective blend of hip hop and Marshmello’s bass music sensibilities.
