Porter Robinson is a veritable Japanophile. From spending much of last two years in Tokyo, to blending countless Asian influences into his music and artwork, Porter has continually shown an appreciation for Japanese culture.

His newest venture falls right in line with the trend. Robinson has announced his debut anime, “Shelter the Animation,” a video interpretation of his recent collaboration with Madeon. It’s unclear whether the project will serve as a music video for the single or an extended film feature.

To produce the project, Porter has teamed up with A-1 Pictures, the studio behind anime productions such as Fairy Tale the Movie, Saint Young Men, The Anthem of the Heart and more.

“Shelter the Animation” was written and executive produced by Porter Robinson and will debut on Tuesday, October 18.
