Radiohead confirmed to headline Glastonbury

England’s Glastonbury is scheduled for June 21-25, 2017, and though it’s a ways off, the festival’s first headliner has just been revealed as Radiohead.

Radiohead was rumored to be the festival’s headliner following after a peculiar symbol surfaced on the plot of land that hosts the Pyramid Stage, bearing a striking resemblance to the band’s iconic “Modified Bear” trademark from the Kid A era.

Ed O’Brien, the band’s guitarist, responded to the speculation by telling BBC 6 Music: “I would love to. I go to Glastonbury every year, it’s my carnival.” He kept the rumor mill spinning by adding the following to his statement: “To be asked to play at Glastonbury again would be magic. I also think Glastonbury is like our spiritual home. It is the mother of all festivals… there’s nothing like that one.. It would be great to play there.”

Now, however, it’s official. Radiohead will headline Glastonbury 2017, as confirmed by the festival. Daft Punk has also been rumored to play at next year’s event.
