Sasha remixes Rufus’s ‘Innerbloom’ into a beautifully somber masterpiece

“Innerbloom” by Australian trio RÜFÜS DU SOL won the international dance community over upon its release, oozing euphoria with heartwarming synth chords and airy vocals. Since then, the song has inspired multitudes of artists to re-work it into their artistic vision while maintaining the same vibes presented in the original.

Sasha decided to go against the status quo in his edit, however, achieving the unimaginable in transforming “Innerbloom” into a somber piece that speaks of loss in its development. Tyrone Lindqvist’s cheery verses take a haunting turn when embedded in a minor, downward chord progression that explodes post-breakdown into a burst of multiple sound layers working in conjunction with one another to exude an overwhelmingly pained effect. It stands completely on its own, underlining Sasha’s keen production sensibility and his skill at creating magic in everything he touches.

Listen to the original “Innerbloom” and watch the newly-unveiled, psychedelic-themed video below as well.
