Billboard reveals its top streaming songs of the year
Streaming only continued to grow as a primary platform for listening to music in 2016, with websites like Spotify and SoundCloud accumulating billions of streams far before the year ended. Billboard has been tracking the top streamed songs as 2016 progressed, and has now rounded the list to its top 100.
The Chainsmokers unsurprisingly took the largest share of electronic representation in the top 10, gracing 7th and 9th place with “Closer” and “Don’t Let Me Down.” Justin Bieber and his hit single “Sorry,” which was co-produced by Skrillex ranked third of the bunch. Meanwhile, Calvin Harris made it to the 18th slot with his collaboration “This Is What You Came For” with Rihanna. View the top 20 below, and head to Billboard to see the rest of the list.
