Eric Prydz debuts 4 new tracks in honor of fan who passed away from cancer

Back in November, we shared a touching story of Eric Prydz responding to a cancer patient’s request to see him perform one last time. Tragically, that superfan, James Lillo, passed away before the show’s date. Deeply affected by the news, Prydz elected to turn the show into a fundraiser, with all proceeds from the event going to James’ charity of choice, Cancer Research Institute. “His battle and story have affected me deeply,” Prydz said. “Now more than ever I wish to play this event to raise money for his charity and honor his memory.”

The fundraiser proved wildly successful, with Prydz throwing two successive sold-out nights. What’s more, Prydz debuted at least four new unreleased songs across the two nights. In a tribute to Lillo, Prydz’s fanbase has named the various IDs after him.

Update: The benefit shows raised a tremendous $60,000 for cancer research. Prydz shared the news on Twitter, writing: “Thanks to all who bought tickets & donated for James. We raised $60K+ for Cancer Research Institute. I think we have all made a difference.”
