Eric Prydz releases track dedicated to late superfan James Lillo

Eric Prydz made headlines earlier in December for his altruistic response to a dedicated fan diagnosed with terminal cancer who wanted to see one final show from his idol. Prydz made arrangements to fly the fan, James Lillo, out to Los Angeles for a personal show, framed as a benefit concert for Lillo’s charity of choice, Cancer Research Institute. Unfortunately, James died before the concert in his honor was held.

Ultimately, James’ benefit show would sell out two nights in a row and raise $60,000 for Cancer Research Institute. In the December 23 episode of EPIC Radio, Prydz revealed a further step he took to honor his fan’s legacy, closing the broadcast with a new track titled “Lillo.” Prydz introduced the track by remarking, “In the days leading up to these events that we did for James, I locked myself in the studio to write a lot of new music. This track that I’m going to play to you now is a track that I’ve dedicated to James Lillo. It was really nice to see that so many of you guys who were there when I played this track understood what this track was.”

“Lillo” has now been released under the artist’s Pryda moniker, and is every bit as transcendental as one would expect such an honorific piece from Prydz to be. Stream the track in full below.
