Yesterday, December 10, Hardwell headlined Myanmar’s debut 808 Festival in Yangon. Unfortunately, while the Dutch DJ’s performance was in full swing, a few rabble-rousers in the crowd started a fight big enough for the artist to see it from the stage. The habitually cheerful Hardwell took a 20 second pause from his booming set to call out the rowdy festival-goers, saying, “take the fight out of the fucking party because we need to party without the fight here.”

Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, the emotionally-charged DJ sent an important message to the disrespectful individuals: dance music is a space that only has room for love and respect.

While the actual fight in question wasn’t captured by the procured video, Hardwell’s vexed response to the occurrence can be seen about 0:43 seconds in.
