Nine Inch Nails’ new EP ‘Not The Actual Events’ is coming this week

Trent Reznor will officially deliver on the promise he made late last year to release new music as Nine Inch Nails in 2016. Announced via the NIN website, a new EP titled Not The Actual Events, which Reznor created with “now official bandmate” Atticus Ross, will be released this Friday, December 23, 2016.

Not The Actual Events is supposedly an “unexpected left turn” from NIN’s 2013 album, Hesitation Marks. Reznor describes the self-release as “an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record,” a description that, although quite vague, points toward a darker side of NIN.

Being a Grammy-winning film composer on top of his other musical accolades, Reznor knows how to bring a story to life with sound. Although some fans may have yearned for a full-length LP, he states, as a matter of fact, that a five-track EP “ended up being the proper length to tell that story.”

Not The Actual Events is available for pre-order now from the NIN store as a 180g 1-sided vinyl or a limited digital + physical bundle. The EP will be available on all digital platforms on Friday, December 23, 2016.
