Watch Flume perform ‘Never Be Like You’ with Kai and cover ‘My Boo’ for Triple J

As Flume prepares to close out his world tour to promote Skin, he’s stopped by his homeland’s revered radio station, Triple J, for their Like a Version series. In two separate videos, Flume performs his smash single, “Never Be Like You,” and covers “My Boo” by Ghost Town DJs, a song that saw a popularity resurgence due to the Running Man Challenge meme.

For his original top charting single, he is joined by vocalist Kai, and three additional talents: Kučka (who appears on two of Skin’s tracks), Vera Blue and Ngaiire. This rendition of “Never Be Like You” soars beyond its radio success to enter an elevated, ethereal realm.

In his cover of “My Boo,” Flume recruits frequent collaborator Vince Staples to join the former’s vocalists (minus Kai). The producer uses his future bass mastery to transform the 1995 R&B classic into a dance music original of its own league.
