Following his indefinite performing hiatus and separation from longtime manager Ash Pournouri last year, Avicii has started 2017 with promises that reassure his extensive following of his continuing presence in electronic music. Tim Bergling began the year with the  lofty resolution that his forthcoming third LP will be the “best damn album” of his career.

Avicii has now begun to allow his fans glimpses of the album’s recording process. In his most recent Instagram story, Bergling uploaded a series of video footage showing him working in the studio. Expectedly, the behind-the-scenes video provides a limited look at Avicii’s creative process. What can be seen is a continuation of the acoustically-driven pop style which has pervaded Bergling’s releases since 2013.  At this point, piano arrangements and vocals take precedence over electronic pads and house rhythms. However, only time will tell the way in which these elements will play into the final resulting product.
