Dancing Astronaut presents AXIS 188: Mixed by Crankdat

Those who have attended a show from The Chainsmokers within the past year have likely become familiar with a trap-metal hybrid song called “Game Over,” which the duo have recently favored as a regular show opener. One of the masterminds behind the track was 19-year-old Ohio native, Crankdat.

Since “Game Over,” the bass prodigy has been spitting out remixes at rapid fire speed and has earned support from the scene’s most influential figures. Skrillex, Excision, Marshmello, and Diplo, have all given notable nods to “Game Over” in their sets, while Jauz is suspected to have a forthcoming collaboration with the newcomer.

Crankdat’s amorphous style has allowed him to experiment and release a variety of 808-fueled sounds across his numerous remixes and originals. To give fans an insight into his live set style, the young artist has crafted a mind-boggling, frenetic mix for Dancing Astronaut’s AXIS series.

Easing listeners in with his future bass remixes of Lil Yachty’s “1Night” and Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen,” Crankdat quickly hits the throttle and takes listeners on a high-octane journey of dubstep, trap, and bass house overlaid with a capellas nostalgic and new hits alike. Excitingly, Crankdat even sprinkles in a couple IDs from his studio vault that will hopefully be released soon.
