Laurent Garnier becomes recognized in France with Legion of Honor award
Pioneering French producer Laurent Garnier has played a crucial role in electronic music’s development since the 1980s. Deservedly, Garnier has received the Legion of Honor award in his home country for his work in cultivating and preserving the underground scene. The award is the highest recognition of civil or defense merit one can receive in France.
Garnier’s résumé has amassed an impressive list of accomplishments over the years, such as discovering artists like Mr. Oizo and founding his own label F Communications. Given the legacy that the veteran producer has established, it comes as no surprise that such an honor would be bestowed upon him.
