Premiere: Slaptop – Come Down (Feat. Rozzi Crane)

Combine lush melodic elements and catchy vocals with a smooth, mellowed house underlay and one gets the fine workings of a Slaptop tune. The San Francisco producer’s latest endeavor “Come Down,” however, sees him stepping out of his usual niche and into the realm of future bass.

He does so not without the finesse we’ve come to take for granted – hollowed, ethereal synths and sweeping build complement the underlying low-frequency rhythms nicely, making for a piece that works as well as a high-charged set closer as it does for casual, at-home listening or driving down a long stretch of freeway. The track’s coup de grâce, of course, is Rozzi Crane, Adam Levine’s esteemed protégé whose powerful vocals tie together the euphoric feeling already present in the piece’s electronically-written aspects.

“Come Down” is the final piece of Slaptop’s album puzzle, which he’s been busily working on for the past year and has slowly been previewing over the past few months with singles such as the ever-infectious “Another Life.” Titled With You, the LP reaches digital stores on March 3.

“Come Down” will be released as a single on Friday, February 24. Stream in full below:
