Watch MØ sing ‘Cold Water’ unplugged with Major Lazer at Air + Style
Fans seeing Major Lazer at Los Angeles’ Air + Style festival got a surprise visit from MØ as she sang “Cold Water” during a fitting downpour. In this rendition of the chart-topping hit, MØ and Major Lazer go more organic and acoustic by simply overlaying MØ’s vocals over improvised guitar sans percussion. As the artist croons the recognizable hook, fans sing along in front of a blue-lit stage in the rain.
The somber lyrics of “Cold Water” could not be complemented by a more fitting atmosphere. This track, along with “Lean On,” propelled MØ into the limelight with the help of Justin Bieber, Diplo, and DJ Snake, and this video is a great example of why MØ deserves her success. Her raspy but elegant voice casts a warm contrast to the macabre lyrics and blue atmosphere.
