When it comes to dance music’s quickest rising stars in the melodic scene, Gryffin and Illenium are two of the space’s top contenders. Both producers are responsible for some of the Internet’s top performing remixes on SoundCloud and Spotify, have tens of millions of streams on various originals, and have earned billing at major festivals like Gryffin’s upcoming performance at Coachella and Illenium’s at Bonnaroo.
Gryffin and Illenium showed no real signs of a collaboration in the works until both producers took to their social media on Monday to announce their joint effort, “Feel Good,” along with the vocal treatment from the Grammy-winning Daya.
The record opens with robust guitar strums courtesy of Gryffin before Daya takes the wheel and lets her passionate demeanor gradually raise the overall emotional atmosphere. As the track begins to build into its drop, Illenium’s grandiose percussion is instantly recognizable and Gryffin quickly re-surfaces with his shredding guitar lead.
Having already steadily and successfully developed their presences in the dance world over the past couple years, Gryffin and Illenium turn the page in both their careers by allowing Daya to help cross them over into the commercial eye.
