Deadmau5 and Feed Me to launch their joint tour at Output

Feed Me, ATTLAS, No Mana, and Blackgummy will join Deadmau5 at Brooklyn’s Output nightclub on March 31 for a night of blood-boiling electro, techno, and house music. It appears this is the first stop on a Feed Me & Deadmau5 tour that was announced at the beginning of the month. Tickets are already on sale and are certainly expected to sell out, given the size of the club and time until the performance. Output typically features acts of a more clandestine electronic sound, such as Adam Beyer or Dense & Pika. While Deadmau5 and Feed Me are not explicitly of similar tastes, their sonic palate certainly fits the club’s disposition.

On the heels of his free release of Stuff I Used to Do, producer Joel Zimmerman’s approach to his music seems conflicted at the moment. While that album featured tracks from days past and often goofy electro sounds, he recently produced the pop crossover track “Let Go” with Grabbitz and is also set to return as his more brooding alias Testpilot at Movement Detroit in May. Rather than claim that Deadmau5 is changing his sound, it makes more sense to say he seems to be broadening his horizons. This show with Feed Me suggests he’s not letting go of his roots, but staying open to new things.
