Porter Robinson demos from 2011-2014 have leaked

Released in 2014, Porter Robinson‘s debut full-length album Worlds turned the electronic scene on its head. Having been known primarily for powerful electrohouse tracks to that point, the album’s methodical tempo, voluminous production style, and, perhaps most importantly, sheer emotion caught nearly everyone off guard and signaled that Robinson was entering a new tier in both his production abilities and stylistic direction. With such an affecting release, fans have been waiting anxiously for what the producer is cooking up next.

While this summer’s collaborative tour with Madeon was enough to sate most fans, others have turned to less than aboveboard methods to get their hands on new Porter. Reddit community r/xTrill have obtained and posted unreleased demos from 2011-2014. In response to these leaks, Porter’s management has issued the following statement:

Recently, a server was hacked which contained Porter Robinson demos from the years 2011-2014, as well as some more recent live show related music files.

The leak contains nothing that Porter is currently working on, nor anything that was planned for future release. The leaked music represents very old demos / ideas that Porter never intended to release at any time.

Further word from management confirmed that some of the tracks included in the leak are not actually Robinson’s work.

While Porter himself has yet to comment on the leaks, given his publicly critical attitude towards his catalog, it’s not a stretch to imagine the producer is far from pleased with the release of these demos.
