Leave it to Victor Ruiz to add extreme personality to any piece of music he touches. Whether fashioning scintillating original works, like his recent single “Red Lights,” or remixes like his highly-praised interpretation of “Humano” by Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann, the Brazilian producer has a keen aptitude for pumping his essence into a track and making it stand out as clearly his own.
His work led to Suara recruiting him to remix one of Moby’s most prized anthems: “Go.” He takes a nuanced approach this time around, setting up a grooving, percussive underlay to complement the original production’s ethereal, string-laden hook and strategically placed piano stabs. As the song enters its second half, Ruiz sprinkles in a helping of synths which amplify the tune’s energy while serving as a refreshing departure from the tense breakdown.
Victor Ruiz’s remix of “Go” is part of a larger Suara compilation dedicated to Moby, which will be hitting digital shelves come March 6. Preorder the track here.
