Richie Hawtin to debut new live show ‘CLOSE’ at Coachella

Item Image
Richie Hawtin can consistently be found pushing the creative envelope. From touring his forward-thinking ENTER. showcases to devising one-of-a-kind DJ mixers, Hawtin has made a career out of constant innovation in the dance world.

Much of Hawtin’s ambition centers around the intersection of technology and creativity. For his latest project, the Canadian veteran is exploring this dialectic in more grandiose fashion than ever. Hawtin has announced CLOSE – Spontaneity & Synchronicity: a new 75-minute audio visual show which will grace international festival stages throughout 2017.

CLOSE finds Hawtin charting the mythical relationship of man versus machine by bringing his most cherished studio equipment to the stage and improvising on the fly. Multiple cameras in the booth will track Richie’s movements, generating real-time visual abstractions for the audience to see.

CLOSE will get its debut at Coachella before heading to festivals like Movement, Primavera Sound, Melt, and more. Check out the full dates below.
