Cashmere Cat (Feat. MØ & SOPHIE) – 9 (After Coachella)
What starts as a pop-leaning Cashmere Cat track takes an experimental twist on “9 (After Coachella),” which features MØ and frequent Cashmere Cat collaborator SOPHIE.
The track is full of odd sounds which create a pleasing trap-pop result as they frantically bounce around vocals from the always lovely MØ. A hard hitting, industrial sound with heavy bass pairs alongside MØ’s melodic vocals, creating a (thankfully) less pop-oriented sound than his last release.
Die hard Cashmere Cat fans report that “9 (After Coachella)” isn’t as new as it seems; the Norwegian producer has been slipping the song in to live shows making its release highly anticipated. Cashmere Cat is no stranger to high profile collaborations, with Tory Lanez, Camila Cabello, 2 Chainz, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and more already on his list. He isn’t afraid to push sonic boundaries on “9 (After Coachella),” which fans hope to be a cryptic hint about the release date of his upcoming album. Cashmere Cat revealed on April 3 that the album, which was previously to be titled Wild Love, will now be titled 9.
