Gorillaz share ‘The Apprentice’ from forthcoming ‘HUMANZ’ LP

As the highly-anticipated Gorillaz album HUMANZ  draws ever closer to its Friday release, the group’s extensive LP rollout has seemed to increase at an exponential rate. A slew of high profile remixes, a live streamed album listening party, and a “live” interview with BBC Radio 1 are among the numerous means by which Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s virtual band amassed audience interest in the last week alone.

In the final week of the album’s embryonic status, Gorillaz have shared another single from HUMANZ. “The Apprentice” is a lush, laid-back offering from the group, featuring sultry vocals from Ray BLK and Rag’n’Bone Man and a somewhat menacing bridge from rapper Zebra Katz. The track had previously appeared on Mistajam’s BBC Radio 1 show and on the group’s augmented reality app.

“The Apprentice is purported to be featured as a bonus track on the deluxe version of the forthcoming LP.
