Celebrate Cinco De Mayo with playlists from Deorro, Boombox Cartel and Dancing Astronaut

Soldiers in the town of Puebla, Mexico defeated the French in an upset win of a battle on May 5, 1862. Since then, Cinco De Mayo has joined St. Patrick’s day as one of America’s favorite days to celebrate their favorite aspects a different culture and participate in heavy festivities.

To help aid the jubilant mood throughout the course of this now-momentous day, ourselves and some esteemed guests have put together a few playlists stuffed with Latin flavor that will assuredly keep things on a highly energized level. Stepping up to the plate first is Mexican-American Deorro, whose recent Elvis Crespo collaboration titled “Bailar” was highly appreciated among his fans of all backgrounds. Included on his playlist are a selection of classics, including tracks from Selena, Marc Anthony, and of course, “Un Beso” by Aventura.

Next up is Boombox Cartel, who raise the energy levels with their more electronically-leaning playlist. The duo commence their list with the famed hit from Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan, “Son de la Negra.” On a more dance-floor appropriate note, they move into a bevy of their own pieces including “Slide” and “Jefe” along with hints of hip hop from Kendrick Lamar and Lil Yachty.

Dancing Astronaut‘s own selections round out the three, providing a dose of heavier EDM infused with Latin accents. Together, these three ought to provide plenty of power, and a perfect soundtrack for any celebratory setting.
