Destroid will reunite for Excision’s music festival
Excision enraptured the bass music community earlier in May when he announced the launch of his own three-day festival. Though discussion surrounding the event has been substantial, its details thus far are sparse. Recently, the Canadian artist revealed the dates of the festival (September 29 – October 1) through a semi-cryptic “cave painting,” but its lineup and location have yet to be announced.
Yesterday, May 17, marked a momentous announcement for the event. After over a year of hibernation, Destroid laconically broke their silence on social media to share a cave painting of their own. The post depicts a prehistoric image of the trio performing above an etching of the festival dates.
The formidable live band – made up of Excision, Downlink, and producer/Pendulum drummer KJ Sawka – is a veritable rarity on the festival circuit, with Ultra 2016 marking their most recent appearance. Destroid’s larger-than-life aesthetic and overwhelmingly loud, aggressive sound make them an ideal candidate for a concert of such low-end magnitude, and their inclusion foreshadows an epic lineup to come.
Suffice it to say, the next cave painting has a tough act to follow.
