Icon Spotlight: April

Icon Collective has solidified its reputation as the premier educational facility for electronic music production on the West Coast. The North Hollywood arts school has become a breeding ground for the next generation of talent, as evidenced by its formidable track record, which includes the likes of Jauz, MAKJ, Slander, SNBRN and more.

To spotlight some of the amazing talent coming out of the school, we’ve teamed up with Icon for a new series highlighting tracks from the past month from both current students and Icon graduates.

As Icon Collective continues to expand, so too does the diversity of music it fosters. Take April’s selection for instance: a mix of ambient, future bass, and forward-thinking four-to-the-floor.

First up for April, Icon alumni Koronis provided his most stirring project to date, Circuits: an intelligent take on neo-classical. Meanwhile, the ever-inventive um.. remixed Medasin and X&G’s “The Zoo” into a typically bizarre bass music concoction. Atherton brought forth his The Return of Movement EP, including the glitchy progress house title track, while KHUU teamed with TIEDIE and River Soul for future bass anthem “Wild Is The Wind.” Lastly, Yeptep provided a glistening remix to Adventure Club’s “Wonder.”
