Stream Maceo Plex’s harrowing ‘The Tesseract’ from his forthcoming EP

Eric Estornel is gearing up for what looks to be a profound studio year. Last month, the producer announced his long-awaited new Maceo Plex album, Solar, due out on his Lone Romantic imprint in June. Now, Estornel has coupled the news with the reveal of a new two-track EP, The Tesseract, coming to his revered Ellum label this week.

In contrast to Solar, which according to Estornel will take a more avant-garde, left-field approach, The Tesseract is classic Maceo Plex. The title track, for instance, is a harrowing techno cut with the kind of sinister sound design that has become a staple of the Maceo Plex sound. It’s no surprise that the track has become one of the more formidable weapons in Estornel’s live arsenal as of late.

Maceo Plex’s new EP, The Tesseract, is due out on Ellum on May 26.
