Damian Lazarus has cemented his reputation as one of the foremost visionaries in the dance world. Nowhere is this more evident than his stellar cast of events, from his 24-hour marathon Get Lost party, to his traveling Rebel Rave series. Lazarus’ most ambitious endeavor, however, is his annual Tulum extravaganza: Day Zero.

An homage to the end of the Mayan calendar and a new beginning for humanity, Day Zero is a multi-sensory experience soundtracked by some of the most reputable talent in the house and techno spectrum. The most recent edition in January for instance saw German heavyweights like Dixon and Âme performing alongside formidable talents like Mathew Jonson, Bedouin, and of course, Damian Lazarus himself.

As it happens, Red Bull TV was there to capture the entire experience for their new series, “Inspire the Night.” In tandem with Day Zero, Red Bull TV has created an insightful mini-doc, exploring Lazarus and crew’s expansive vision behind the event.

What’s more, Damian Lazarus has created a special composition titled “Double Rainbow” which serves as the film’s soundtrack. With haunting pad progressions and catchy synth lines, it’s the kind of otherworldly concoction we’ve come to love and expect from Lazarus’ tasteful brand of electronic music.
