This year’s June edition of Splash House has finally arrived. As many music lovers and revered dance music artists make their way into the desert, the excitement continues to build as a weekend filled with state-of-the-art sounds and desert revelries draw near. Taking place in Palm Springs on June 9-11, the two-day affair of music and poolside hangs is in no short supply of today’s most buzzed about acts, as many artists are preparing to take the stage at one of Splash House’s three official hotels – The Saguaro, The Riviera, or The Renaissance.  With so much music to be experienced this week, there are at least five acts that are destined make an impression this weekend.

Sam Gellaitry

At just 20 years old, Sam Gellaitry is solidifying his stay in the experimental side of electronic music. The genre-blending virtuoso is heavily known for his earthly trip-hop-infused performances alongside his meteoric rise to fame since his signing to Soulection at the age of 18. His most recent EP Escapism III rounds out a trilogy of projects that come together to generate in his most coveted work, lifting his sound to a higher echelon compared to most producers his age. The young artist just wrapped a late-night set at this year’s Lightning in a Bottle and is now making his way across the west coast before setting his sights on this year’s Splash House. One half of Australia duo Carmada, solo artist L D R U has been furnishing some fresh-cut summer vibes as of late. Last year, the burgeoning act released his single “Keeping Score” featuring Paige IV, which dominated the charts and reached No. 14 and No. 22 on Australian ARIA Charts and Triple J’s Hottest 100 respectively. His summer-inspired sounds are garnished with a euphoric blend of bass and trap elements – a perfect combination for day-time pool party entertainment. Dallas-native producer Medasin has been making serious waves over the past couple of months with his cool and collected breezy sound. His light-tempered style of music is ideal for lingering around the poolside due to his production’s chilled-out, subtle complexities. Currently in the midst of a strong spring tour across North America that has him joining artists like Kaskade, Sam Galleitry, Illenium, and more, the young artist has also been able to churn out some astounding remixes for Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3” and Portugal. the Man’s “Feel It Still.” Medasin is set to play at the Riveria Stage on Sunday.

Bonobo

Bonobo has been a staple player in the dance music world for the last couple of months. His far-reaching, ambient production style has won over fans from every corner of the globe, and his nature-inspired aesthetic sinks into the more lurid depths of a listener’s imagination. Earlier this year, the England-native producer released his sixth album Migration via Ninja Tune, and recently wrapped up a dramatic set at the coveted venue Red Rocks last month. He also just announced the pre-sale to his Migration Live North American tour for this summer and fall – with the first tour stop being at this weekend’s Splash House.

With roots in house music, Lane 8 has been evolving his music within the past year that displays a maturity in his sound. His recent single, “Little Voices” encapsulates his growth into a softer, melodious side of his production that continues to entice fans – both old and new. On top of his consistent output of music, his “This Never Happened” tour concept that his kicked off last year challenged social media boundaries at his shows, enforcing a strict ‘No phones/No cameras’ policy. The concept was so successful that Lane is now expanding his mission in the form of three “This Never Happened” Summer Gatherings in the states of Colorado, New York, and California at the end of summer. Just recently, his released a two-part summer mixtape that’s filled with all of his favorite selects and heart-rendering originals, which stands as a perfect sample into what to expect as his Splash House set on Sunday at the Saguaro Stage.
