Flume and Kendrick Lamar contribute to forthcoming Vince Staples track

While Flume has become an increasingly prominent figure outside of the dance music realm in recent years, his transition into the mainstream has reached new heights in 2017. Yesterday, June 17, Lorde released “The Louvre,” featuring work from the Australian producer. Now, it appears that Harley Streten has contributed to one of his momentous collaborations to date on frequent partner Vince Staples’ forthcoming album, Big Fish Theory.

In an analysis of the LP’s writing credits, Rap Genius uncovered that one of the songs, “Yeah Right,” lists Streten as a contributor alongside SOPHIE, Kučka, and Kendrick Lamar (credited as Kendrick Duckworth) It’s unclear whether Lamar will appear on the track vocally or if his role is entirely behind-the-scenes. While, hopefully, the former is the case, the notion of Flume and Lamar working together in any capacity is a scintillating one.

Big Fish Theory also credits the likes of Damon Albarn, Jimmy Edgar, and GTA’s Van Toth on additional songs. The album will be released Friday, June 23, on Def Jam Recordings.
