Mercurial tech baron and founder of Tesla, Elon Musk is rumored to be working on a new music streaming platform, to be run specifically on Tesla vehicles in the near future—possibly as early as the new Model 3, which rolls out next month.
Oddly enough, rather that collaborating with existing streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, each of which boast millions of monthly subscribers, Musk seems dead set on perfecting a proprietary software for Tesla.
In the words of a Tesla Spokesperson, “We believe it’s important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose. Our goal is to simply achieve maximum happiness for our customers.”
All that remains to be seen if this ambitious project materializes into a concrete feature.
