Flume debuts heavy unreleased track at Electric Forest [Video]

In May, Flume concluded the extended run of his Skin companion releases with his Kučka collaboration, “Hyperreal.” Since then, Harley Streten has kept one foot in the limelight through his behind-the-scenes involvement in major projects, featuring on Lorde’s “The Louvre” and contributing to Vince Staples’ “Yeah Right” alongside Kendrick Lamar, SOPHIE, and, once again, Kučka.

It now appears that the Australian hitmaker may have a new hit of his own on the horizon. During Streten’s headlining set at Electric Forest this past weekend, many fans reported hearing a formidable unreleased track. Today, July 3, festival attendee Cameron LeMaire sent fans on the artist’s dedicated sub-Reddit into a state of fervor, uploading footage of the song in question.

Flume’s apparent new track continues the heavier direction he’s demonstrated in recent releases such as his Pusha T collaboration, “Enough.” Beginning just before the one-minute mark in the video below, the production progresses from detuned synths and erratic rhythms into an abrasive, trap-leaning sonic eruption. Hopefully, Flume’s following won’t have to wait long to see a release for this monstrous output.
