HARD announces venue change ahead of 10 year anniversary festival

Gary Richards and company are gearing up for the tenth anniversary of their flagship festival, HARD Summer slated to kick off on August 5. The southern California dance event began in the heart of downtown Los Angeles a decade ago, hosted at LA Historic Park, though since then, HARD has been forced to adapt as a nomadic operation, landing at various new spots outside of Los Angeles for the last few years. Last year’s festival took up at Fontana’s Auto Club Speedway, and the event was expected to return to the racetrack for a second year, signaling to perhaps a new permanent home for HARD. Now, organizers have announced to fans that HARD Summer is now on the move once more, settling at Glen Helen Amphitheater & Regional Park a few miles away, just three weeks ahead of the festival’s commencement.

HARD has assured fans that all previous ticket sales will be honored and photo updates posted to social media channels today give attendees a sneak peak at what looks like it will be a much more conducive setting for the 10 year anniversary event. The new venue looks to be well-equipped with grass, trees, pools, shade, and ample room for foot traffic, addressing many of the criticisms posed against last year’s venue. San Manuel Amphitheater itself – the park’s amphitheater, which will presumably host the festival’s main stage – is the country’s largest outdoor music venue, with a capacity of 65,000. Additionally, the park extends throughout a sprawling 1,340 acres of open space, which should prove preferable to the confines of the Auto Club Speedway for attendees, particularly those wishing to camp. HARD has also issued a statement promising that the lineup will remain unchanged, adding that further information on daily schedules and the event’s interactive smartphone app will be available to fans shortly.

HARD Summer’s venue change is still developing. Stay tuned for updates. Read HARD’s full statement here.
