Jay Hardway – Need It (Original Mix)

Jay Hardway has been making waves recently. His track “Golden Pineapple” hit No. 1 on Beatport‘s Future House chart. The Dutch electronic music producer has now released “Need It,” and it’ beginning to climb the charts — unsurprising given Hardway spent two years producing it.

“I’ve been working on this track on and off for about 2 years. After multiple versions, I decided to stick with this version with a retro feel to it. The melody has always been the main part of the project, but I needed something to build up to it. So, I decided to work with friends and songwriters Dennis Baffoe, Rupert Blackman and Tim Boomsma, who immediately felt the song and had a good idea about what energy the vocals should have. I’m really proud of the end result and the track is always a very special moment during my sets.” – Jay Hardway

The track really gives off a retro vibe. The vocals begin the song with a comforting and reassuring vibe that then quickly moves into the pluck arpeggio that drives the drop. Hardway’s ability to maneuver around a chord progression and key signature is truly remarkable. “Need It” is a tune that I didn’t know I needed.
