Lorde – Perfect Places (Whethan Remix)
2017 has been an impressive year for Whethan. After a summer full of festival performances and a collaboration with Charli XCX, the 18-year-old Chicago-based artist has just released a remix of Lorde‘s “Perfect Places” just in time for his upcoming fall tour.
One of the standout songs on Lorde’s recent album Melodrama, “Perfect Places” has an airy bounce that builds to an explosive chorus. Whethan fills out the track with a heavy bass line and and a trappy groove before it drops into a lighthearted, synth-driven jam. The young producer throws in popping sounds and other animated background effects, giving the song a nice, textured vibe. This song is another example of the young producer’s ability to make the pop-inspired yet innovative music he is loved for.
