Shigeto announces first full length LP in four years

Detroit’s very own Shigeto always seems to be working on something big. Just this summer, he has started his own record label, Portage Garage Sounds, and released a hazy collaborative project with ZelooperZ, titled A Piece the Geto. The producer isn’t slowing down and has announced his first solo LP in four years.

Named after Shigeto’s event series at Motor City Wine, The New Monday LP is reportedly influenced by the “community of Detroit.” The artist also claims to be taking the project down more dance music oriented route than he has in the past. The album consists of nine songs, with guest features from ZelooperZ, Kaleena Zanders, and Silas Green. Shigeto has released the album’s first single, “Detroit Part II,” with an accompanying visual. Out October 6 via Ghostly International, this project will surely be one of the fall’s hottest releases.
