Skrillex teams up with DJ Sliink, Wale to produce the hip hop heavy ‘Saint Laurent’

Skrillex has delivered music in the form of a trifecta, rounding out his recent two releases, “Would You Ever” with Poo Bear, and his remix of LH4L’s “Neoprene,” with “Saint Laurent,” a hip hop infused number that arrives courtesy of OWSLA.

Saint Laurent casts Wale as the song’s featured rapper, a welcome return from the D.C. rapper who has notably remained quiet since dropping his fifth studio album, Shine, in April.

Armed with a thumping bass line that would satisfy any hip hop enthusiast’s craving for a heavier instrumental, Saint Laurent echoes the Jersey Club elements for which OWSLA’s DJ Sliink has gained notoriety, the song arising as clear evidence of the fluidity of DJ Sliink and Skrillex’s musical styles when joined on a single track.

Skrillex has been on somewhat of an exposition of ability in the past week and a half, dabbling in house on Would You Ever, returning to his dubstep roots on his Neoprene remix, and now, experimenting in hip hop on Saint Laurent. Whatever genre Skrillex may conquer next, his recent activity strongly backs any venture.
