Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo team up on ‘Nothing Better’
Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo‘s “Nothing Better,” an Insomniac Records release, is an uplifting progressive house track filled with dance-oriented, 1990’s house textures. The song features soulful, intertwining vocals layered over low, arresting piano chords before breaking into a head-bobbing bassline.
“Nothing Better” is certainly not the duo’s first joint effort—it succeeds their bass house hit, “The Calling,” and the rippling garage house track “Piano Hand,” both released in 2015. Yet again, the household names successfully wed their seemingly contending tones. Lake’s high-energy, effervescent nature is intuitively complemented by Lorenzo’s shadowy, and jarring ambiance.
