WATCH: Nick Murphy details why he dropped the Chet Faker name in electrifying new video

After dropping his Chet Faker moniker in late 2016, Nick Murphy has been working to introduce a new era of his music. While his Missing Link EP and summer festival appearances have helped to smooth the transition, Murphy has now released an intense video featuring an alternate version of his recent track, “I’m Ready.”

The video begins with Murphy alone in a parking structure, creating a simple, echoing beat with a stick for an otherwise a capella performance. The video quickly changes to grainy, black and white cuts of the artist DJing. From here, it cuts back and forth between performances, Murphy singing, and multiple phone calls detailing the narrative of Murphy’s name change. All this comes along with a fall tour announcement spanning across North America before heading to Europe. Including a few DJ sets amongst many live shows, tickets for all of Nick Murphy’s upcoming performances can be found here.
