Marshmello & Selena Gomez’s ‘Wolves’ is an emotionally evocative crossover
Marshmello and Selena Gomez‘s highly anticipated “Wolves” crossover has arrived.
Much to the surprise of those who predicted a lackluster number from the two based on the cover art of the record, the result is a dulcetly delivered — at times eerily evocative — collaboration.
“Wolves,” originally revealed on Twitter in July, sees out that the downtempo/pop melancholic tendencies of Gomez’s style are met with grace by Marshmello’s production abilities. Considering his propensity for displaying his vast production style, demonstrated in last week’s pop-punk number “You & Me,” Marshmello’s outpouring is a continual display of his keen production variances. Working with Gomez on “Wolves,” Marshmello may be certifying his top-dog status in the EDM realm after all.
