Ekali and QUIX have put their future bass spin on a Porter Robinson classic, “Language.” The original tune, released in 2012, serves as testimony to Robinson’s ability to craft lush and sentimental music outside of the pulsating electro house fans that had gotten used to. Ekali is known for labeling his remixes of more seminal tracks as”tributes,” as he did with his rework of Flux Pavilion‘s “I Can’t Stop.”
Ekali and QUIX’s “Language” remix is apt in leaving the original’s euphoric trance builds and ethereal female vocals intact. However, the duo makes the song their own with a fluttering future bass drop along with a harmonic bell and piano outro. Ekali and QUIX have captured “Language”‘s orchestral, emotive center through their unique lens.
