Skrillex and Ronny J hop on Ekali’s ‘Babylon’

Skrillex‘s output in 2017 has arguably been heavier than any previous year of his career, and believe it or not, he’s is technically on his year off. Time away from touring has given Sonny ample time in the studio, effectively churning out genre-hopping products with DJ Sliink, Habstrakt, and Poo Bear.

Now, Skrillex and Florida-bred producer Ronny J have linked up to take on Sonny’s latest OWSLA recruit Ekali and his Denzel Curry-assisted hit “Babylon.” The final product comes out as one of Skrillex’s top cuts of the year, marked by the return of the signature sound design that launched him into superstardom. Percussive clinks break up barking, metallic synths over rolling waves of wobble –– it’s quintessential, teeth-grinding aggression from Skrillex.

The Ronny J tag-team cut comes with two accompanying  remixes, one featuring up-and-coming producer pairing Oshi and Sober Rob, and another featuring resident experimenters Josh Pan and X&G. Josh Pan and X&G lay their eccentric, club-ready trademark on the track while Oshi and Sober Rob temper the “Babylon” remix pack with a luminous, lighter jazz-inspired take. The Skrillex-endorsed draft class of production talent rounds out three inventive new takes on “Babylon,” now available on OWSLA.
