FISHER stuns on anthemic ‘Oi Oi’ EP

The quickly august FISHER — one half of Cut Snake — made his highly-infectious Dirtybird debut with “Ya Kidding” earlier this year. Since its release, the cut has arguably served as the label’s track of the year and has taken on a life of its own, earning spots at a multitude of festivals.

For the professional-surfer turned musical maestro, things have consistently been looking up. FISHER’s already been tapped by industry heavyweights and served up one of the most Shazam’d tracks in Ibiza and UK throughout the festival season, but it’s his consistently deviating M.O. that continually sets him apart in a genre whose very strengths lie in delectable distinction.

Further cementing this tastemaker status is his latest Oi Oi EPFor on Oi Oi, FISHER serves up a highly-anticipated number “Stop It,” which fans have known as the “roller-coaster” track.

Much like “Ya Kidding,” the pairing of the bassline and a simplistic verse equates to a dance-satiated number.  The second track, “Ya Didn’t,” adds more funk into the mix, but with the proclivity of the synth’s inclusion just as the track begins to build, it’s clear FISHER’s Oi Oi will carry its weight far into next year’s festival season and beyond.
