Graves – Genesis (Tsuruda Remix)

Thomas Jay Tsuruda, better known as Tsuruda, has released his remix of Graves’ track “Genesis.” On his rework, Tsuruda takes the track’s fundamental structure and deconstructs it, creating his own world in which the linear facets of traditional electronic tracks are nonexistent.

The producer’s biography notes that he attended a classical music school from kindergarten to eighth grade and spent his childhood experimenting with every instrument he could get his hands on. The artist is influenced by artists like Flying Lotus and Madlib, which explain his tendency to err on the side of chaos, rather than play it safe. Tsuruda’s remix is a substantial deconstruction of music’s most basic elements in favor of something entirely distinct.
