Icon Spotlight: November

Icon Collective has solidified its reputation as the premier educational facility for electronic music production on the West Coast. The North Hollywood arts school has become a breeding ground for the next generation of talent, as evidenced by its formidable track record, which includes the likes of Jauz, MAKJ, Slander, SNBRN and more.

To spotlight some of the amazing talent coming out of the school, we’ve teamed up with Icon for a new series highlighting tracks from the past month from both current students and Icon graduates.

As 2017 slowly winds to a close, the halls of Icon Collective are as prolific as ever. Last month saw a number of standout tracks from students and graduates alike, including KLAXX’s heavy collaboration with Basstrick, “Destruction,” for Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint, as well as Castor Troy’s inventive multi-genre vocal ballad “Saint On Paper.”

Current student Pauline Herr lent her vocals to Taska Black’s immaculate future bass number “Nothing Lasts.” Meanwhile, Icon instructor Sam Burke (under the alias Cozmoe) co-produced Teflon Sega’s rapturous R&B single “NEØN” with WAJU. Lastly, Icon grad Cooda dropped a surprise trance flip of Porter Robinson’s new Virtual Self track “Ghost Voices.”

Listen to all five tracks below.
