Moogfest announces first wave of 2018 talent

Since its formation almost fourteen years ago, Moogfest has situated itself as a leading institution in the marriage of music and technology. A synthesis of innovation and forward-thinking artists, Moogfest has also established itself as one of the most progressive destinations in the world.

Presently, the festival is furthering its intentions with its 2018 line-up led by an array of female, non-binary, and transgender artists. The festival is set to include a keynote conversation by Chelsea Manning on “The Future of Creativity,” where Manning will delve into how technology has the potential to enable radical disruption in both personal and political spheres.

Moogfest’s also revealed the LCD Soundsystem synth experimentalist Gavin Russom will join the bill, alongside Armen Ra, the hyperkinetic pop maven SOPHIE, Umfang who helped co-found the Discwoman New York collective, and the US debut of revered Japanese multi-instrumentalist Midori Takada. Continuing to build on the experimental decorum of previous years, the festival’s 2018 tagline has been dubbed “Future Thought Future Sound.”

Moogfest takes place in Durham, North Carolina May 17 – 20, 2018. Tickets and more information are available here.
