Based in Buenos Aires, the artist Lagartijeando — also known as Mati Zundel — inserts the sounds of the Argentinian backwoods into his sweeping electronic compositions. After the release of his album El Gran Poder, which was met to critical acclaim, German producer Steffen Kirchoff has put a deep house spin on Lagartiejando’s “Camino en Llamas.”

Kirchhoff’s take clocks in at just over seven minutes and maintains the spirit of the original while adding a number of electronic flourishes. The producer’s use of synths to slowly build tension throughout the revision’s runtime are inspired and make for a compelling listen throughout — and one it is easy and comforting to get lost in.
