Premiere: Thomas Schumacher – Dances On Wood
Thomas Schumacher is a Renaissance man when it comes to techno. The German stalwart believes deeply in self reinvention, and attests his two-decade-plus success in the industry to such a modus operandi. However, one thing that remains consistent with Schumacher is his penchant for all things dark and intense.
Take for instance his newest A-side “Dances On Wood,” which immediately locks the listener into a frenzy of hard, fast percussion and minimal, yet tense flutters of synth in the background. Though Schumacher comes out swinging, the track only continues to build in power before finally giving way to a retro-tinged bout of acid tones. The result? A club-ready record that is chaotic in the best of ways.
“Dances On Wood” is set for a March 30 release on Electric Ballroom — Schumacher’s own imprint and primary base.
