Dirty Cash – So Real (Sonic Palms Remix)

Check out Sonic Palms’ remix of this bumpin’ track by Dirty Cash, a little-known act on Glamara Records. The vocals remind me of something from Bob Sinclar, the drop (wait for it at 0:45; 110% worth it) is classic disco, and the bass that kicks in at around two minutes is very Spencer & Hill. Perrrrfect.

Teeny tiny bonus: Some “Dirtee Cash” from Dizzee Rascal and Sub Focus !!

Excuse Me! Make way for some new Spencer & Hill

Spencer & Hill need no introduction here at the Dancing Astronaut; we have been bringing you their beautiful music all year long. Prepare yourself for more of their macadocious melodies, and then click play for their latest single, “Excuse Me.” And now if you will excuse me, I have a Steve Aoki Christmas party to attend. Be jealous!

Special holiday bonus! This dropped about a month ago but somehow I forgot to post it. Regardless, enjoy some extra Spencer & Hill!

Sunfreakz gets Anthony’s “Electricty” flowing

The original track “Electricity,” recorded by wannabe-heartthrob Brian Anthony for the soundtrack of the summer 2009 film Aliens in the Attic, is almost as forgettable as the movie it was made for. Fortunately, Belgian DJ Sunfreakz of “Counting Down the Days” fame was able to pump some new life into the song with this upbeat remix. Cheesy hook + classic synth riffs = bangin’ dance track guaranteed to get you moving. Cheers!

Small bonus: supposedly Bay Area rapper Ya Boy is featured on the original track. Enjoy his spring 2009 hit “We Run LA” here!

New Basement Jaxx: My Turn StoneBridge Remix!

Check out this remix of “My Turn,” the newest single from Basement Jaxx’s September epic Scars. StoneBridge, the Swedish DJ who was nominated for a Grammy for his remix of Neyo’s “Closer,” pumps some additional grooviness into the track making it easier to boogie to than the original, but you should listen to both and let your ears decide which one you like better.

POW! The Beat Assassins Connect With a Direct Hit

Following another lovely installment of Throwback Thursday, it is time to fast forward with the British electro group Beat Assassins and their latest cut “Direct Hit.” This song makes me think of bunch of robots getting weird on a dance floor somewhere out in deep space; who could bring you there better than the Dancing Astronaut? Perhaps this song will start a new trend of Future Fridays…

Bonus material! Check out this clip of the Beat Assassins performing at the Glade Festival in July of this year, and pay extra careful attention to the guy in the front row about 1:55 in for a great example of what not to do at a concert. Poor form, sir!

RIO Serenade (original + remix)

RIO, the handsome gent behind the July hit After The Love, is back with a new single called “Serenade” that reminds me a lot of Bob Sinclar and summer (both good things). If you have not heard of RIO before, track down some of Spencer & Hill’s remixes of his previous work; all good stuff. I like this high-energy arrangement of “Serenade” better than the original, but you decide for yourself.

Here is the more laid-back original track:

Disco Boys – Lunatic

Check out this new track from The Disco Boys, the German house duo behind the 2004 chart topper For You. It’s über fresh, but something about it reminds me of an ’80s classic. See if you agree.
