Check out Roland and Serato’s new DJ controller / drum machine hybrid
Roland and Serato, two leaders in hardware and digital DJ software respectively, have joined forces to revolutionize how DJs perform. The two companies have integrated Roland’s legendary drum machine hardware with a fully-functional, four-channel mixer.
Dubbed the DJ-808, the new mixer will feature Roland’s TR-S step sequencer, ultra-high performance platters, dual-deck control two USB ports for AIRA and “the deepest Serato integration available, anywhere,” according to the official description.
It will also feature the sounds from Roland’s venerable 606, 707, 808, and 909 drum machines to work in concert with the TR-S, as well as the company’s VT Voice Transformer for vocal manipulation on the fly. The DJ-808 also features audio fidelity well above the industry standard, outputting at 24 bit/96kHz quality.
